PT CIPTA SINAPSIS PERSONA operates Courtship, a curated dating service based in Indonesia and operated for Indonesia. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
Who we are
PT CIPTA SINAPSIS PERSONA is the personal data controller for Courtship. In this policy, "Courtship," "we," "us," and "our" refer to PT CIPTA SINAPSIS PERSONA and the Courtship service.

What this policy covers
This policy covers personal data we process when you access or use Courtship, including our iOS app, website, verification flows, support channels, and related services. It does not cover services, websites, or companies that we do not own or control.
Personal data we collect
Depending on how you use Courtship, we may collect:
- Account and authentication data: email address, OTP authentication records, session data, account status, and security logs.
- Profile data: name, birthdate, age, gender, height, region, agama, suku, work, education, lifestyle details, family plans, dating intention, preferences, prompts, and photos.
- Contact and social details: WhatsApp number, LinkedIn URL, and support communications you choose to provide.
- Interaction data: likes, comments, matches, messages, profile views, reports, blocks, moderation history, and account-deletion reasons.
- Verification data: liveness session data, selfie or face-comparison materials, verification results, confidence scores, retry reasons, and related anti-fraud signals.
- Device, analytics, and diagnostics data: app version, build number, device and operating-system details, usage events, crash reports, error logs, and product analytics events.
Sensitive and verification data
Courtship is a dating service, so some data is sensitive in context. This includes agama, suku or ethnicity-related information, gender, dating preferences, relationship status, private messages, photos, reports, blocks, and biometric or liveness verification data.
We use liveness and face-comparison verification to help prevent fake profiles, impersonation, fraud, and unsafe behavior. Verification data may be processed by AWS or related infrastructure providers. We do not use biometric or liveness data for advertising, and we do not use it to decide who you match with.
Verification helps Courtship assess authenticity signals, but it does not guarantee a person's identity, character, relationship status, criminal history, financial condition, intentions, or offline safety.
How we use personal data
We use personal data to operate, protect, and improve Courtship. This includes using data to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account.
- Build your profile and show it to appropriate Courtship users.
- Recommend profiles using profile details, preferences, location/region, filters, and interaction data.
- Process likes, comments, matches, conversations, reports, blocks, and account settings.
- Review applications, verify profiles, and support trust and safety.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent spam, scams, impersonation, harassment, abuse, and policy violations.
- Provide support, service notices, analytics, diagnostics, debugging, and product improvement.
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, and requests from competent authorities.
Legal basis and consent
We process personal data based on service necessity, your consent where required, our legitimate interest in safety and service integrity, and legal obligations. For example, account and profile processing is needed to provide Courtship; agama, suku, preferences, photos, prompts, and verification submissions are provided by you for the service; liveness verification is used for safety and fraud prevention; and reports, blocks, moderation records, and security logs are used to protect users and enforce our terms.
If we use WhatsApp or other direct channels for marketing or non-essential communications, we will do so based on consent or another basis permitted by applicable law. You may withdraw consent where applicable, although withdrawal may limit features that depend on the relevant data.
Safety, reports, and moderation
Courtship may process and review profile content, photos, prompts, messages, reports, blocks, verification data, device/account signals, and interaction history to investigate safety issues, enforce our terms, and protect users.
Private messages are not public, but they may be processed by systems or reviewed by authorized personnel when needed for reports, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or service integrity.
Service providers and international transfers
We do not sell your personal data. We may share personal data with service providers that help us operate Courtship. These providers process data under contract, confidentiality, security, and use-limitation obligations.
Service providers may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend infrastructure.
- AWS or Amazon services for liveness verification and related infrastructure where configured.
- PostHog for product analytics.
- Sentry for crash diagnostics and error monitoring.
These providers may process data outside Indonesia. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we use reasonable contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for the transfer.
We may also disclose data to professional advisers, authorities, or relevant parties when needed for legal compliance, urgent safety concerns, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
- Account and profile data is generally kept while your account is active.
- Likes, matches, messages, and interaction data are generally kept while needed to provide the service, unless deleted or retained for safety or legal reasons.
- Reports, blocks, moderation records, ban records, and anti-abuse logs may be kept longer to protect users and prevent repeat abuse.
- Verification results may be kept while your account is active and for a reasonable safety period after deletion. Raw liveness materials are kept only as long as reasonably needed for verification, security, review, or legal purposes.
- Analytics and diagnostics may be kept in identifiable, pseudonymous, aggregated, or de-identified form according to operational needs.
- Backups are deleted or overwritten on normal backup rotation schedules.
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable Indonesian personal data protection law and verification of your request, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent, objection or restriction where applicable, and portability where required or technically supported.
You can exercise these rights by using available in-app controls or by contacting hello@courtship.id. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Account deletion
You may request account deletion in the app where available or by contacting us. When your account is deleted, your profile is removed from active discovery. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups or be retained where needed for safety, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, or enforcement of our terms.
Reports, blocks, moderation decisions, and records needed to prevent repeat abuse may be retained even after account deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, least-privilege practices, monitoring, vendor controls, and security review. No service can guarantee complete security, so you should also protect your device and account access.
Data breach notification
If a personal data protection failure occurs, we will assess it and notify affected users and/or competent authorities when required by applicable Indonesian law.
Children privacy
Courtship is only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that a user is under 18, we may remove the account and related data. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Courtship, contact us at hello@courtship.id.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Courtship changes or as Indonesian legal requirements develop. If we make material changes, we will provide notice by posting the updated policy, sending an email, showing an in-app notice, or using another appropriate method.
